Data as Culture
The ODI’s Data as Culture art programme engages new and diverse audiences with work by artists who explore data critically and materially.
We commission internationally renowned artists and artists in residence for our headquarters in London, for other organisations and galleries, and public spaces. Our art programmes and partnerships have reached hundreds of thousands of people, on and off line. Artworks have included a semi-sentient vending machine, data collection performances, photographs, networked artworks, pneumatic machines, live-coding performances and ‘stitch-hacked’ jumpers.
We intend to expand the programme to work with more artists and partners, and grow our reach as we explore network culture, code and more innovative ways to create with data.
New calls for commissions are announced on an ongoing basis.
